An anthology of stories set in the world built on air by the celebrated podcast, Worldbuilding for Masochists.  Artemisia Publications is proud to partner with WFM to present this unique and exciting anthology.

For the past years, Worldbuilding for Masochists has been a celebrated podcast, discussing the art of worldbuilding in fantasy and science fiction literature and gaming.  Hosted by noted fantasy writers Marshall Ryan Maresca, Cass Morris, Rowenna Miller and Natania Barron, the podcast has delved in deep to techniques and concepts of worldbuilding, as they’ve been joined by notable authors such as Fonda Lee, Martha Wells, Tasha Suri, S.A. Chakraborty, Seanan McGuire, Mary Robinette Kowal, Charlaine Harris and many more.  The podcast has earned significant praise, including being a four-time finalist for the Hugo Award.

Over the course of the podcast, the hosts and their guests have been building a fantasy world on air, adding new ideas and elements every episode.  One element, contributed by author Kate Elliott, has become a keystone element of the world: the Magical Gates that connect different civilizations in the world, and allow its people to instant travel from one place to another, but only living things.  Travelers arrive on the other side with no possessions or clothing.

This world demanded that stories be written about, so the hosts of podcasts invited past guests and new writers to join them in this anthology of exciting, adventurous stories, centered around this incredible, mysterious magical gates.
